The class of 2025 at the Arizona Campus of Gateway Seminary graduated on May 17. Nine students graduated in the commencement ceremony led by Dallas Bivins, director of the Arizona Campus.
On May 16, the seminary held its Gateway Gathering where alumni, students, friends and family celebrated the accomplishments of the graduates as well as the certificate recipients. Both events were held at CityView Church in Phoenix.
Gateway President Adam Groza concluded the graduation ceremony with his commencement charge. During the address, Dr. Groza pulled from 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 as he encouraged the students. The focus was on dependence on God’s work and without his work in our lives and joining his program, the ministry we do is nothing at all. God is at work in us, with us and through us.
That will remain true as these graduates continue in ministry.
The degrees and their recipients were:
- ADVANCE Diploma in Christian Ministry: Ana Laura Uribe
- Master of Theological Essentials: Coral Lee Hanson
- Master of Theological Studies: Clark Burau, Jeffrey Keith Crabtree, Kailee Rutledge and Eun-Young Mun
- Master of Divinity: Kyong-Chin Mun
- Doctor of Ministry: Dustin Daniels and Kelcey Fry

Two students were recognized with awards during the ceremony.
Jeffrey Crabtree was awarded the Dan and Harriet Stringer Award for a student who has demonstrated perseverance through difficulty in completing seminary education.
Dustin Daniels was awarded the Ronald Hornecker Award for a candidate whose personal growth during the program most exemplifies the purpose of the D.Min. degree at Gateway Seminary. Daniels’ dissertation was “From Cowardice to Courageousness: A Holistic Model for Members of River Bible Church to Face Their Fear of Personal Witnessing.”
Gateway Seminary is driven toward partnering with churches to equip ministry leaders in all sorts of contexts.
An easy first step into seminary is the Bible Teaching Certificate. In as short as 18 months, participants are trained with a year in the Old Testament, a year in the New Testament and a course on principles of Bible teaching.
The credits from the Bible Teaching Certificate can be the beginning of a master’s degree. With options including the Master of Divinity and the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling, there are numerous opportunities to earn a seminary degree.
Gateway Seminary strives to equip you for the ministry God is calling you to right here in Arizona. Call 602-843-8544 for more information.
