Christian Challenge leadership changes

Brad Schneeflock

Christian Challenge in Arizona experienced a leadership transition July 31.

Brad Schneeflock, state director for the last five years, resigned to accept a position with a financial planning firm in Paradise Valley. Marc Hill, who had been the Christian Challenge director for Northern Arizona University and financial administrator for Christian Challenge statewide, is the new state director.

“Brad has been instrumental in casting a new vision for collegiate ministry in our state with volunteer (or self-funded) campus missionaries and local church partnerships to adopt college campuses,” said David Johnson, Arizona Southern Baptist Convention executive director. “Under his leadership, the Christian Challenge ministry has multiplied across the state to 20 campuses and increased their effectiveness in evangelism and discipleship by partnering with local churches. He has truly led this ministry in a strategic way.”

Schneeflock joined the Christian Challenge staff in 2009 as metro collegiate evangelism strategist, with a mission field that included every college campus in greater Phoenix except the main campus of Arizona State University. He became state director in 2015.

Schneeflock said it had been a privilege to serve on the AZSBC staff and an honor to lead Christian Challenge.

“I am unbelievably proud of our growing team of campus missionaries who serve college students on campuses across Arizona,” he said. “In addition, it has been a joy to serve with the Christian Challenge state leadership team, a talented and passionate team of servant leaders.”

Reflecting on God’s blessings in the past, Schneeflock looked to the future for Christian Challenge.

“I truly believe the best years are yet to come as God continues to lead this amazing team of missionaries to fulfill their mission and vision of reaching students on every college campus in our state,” he said.

Marc Hill

Having served with Christian Challenge in Arizona for more than 30 years, Hill is the longest tenured Christian Challenge AZ staff member.

“He has been involved in all the changes that have been made with Christian Challenge in the past several years and is enthusiastic about continuing to develop and expand Christian Challenge on campuses around the state with the goal of having a missionary and partnering church on every college campus in Arizona,” Johnson said. “I believe Marc will do a great job in this role and is the right person for the job.”
