AZSBC launches updated grant request process

Oct 12, 2021

Starting this month, the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention is rolling out a new and improved process for churches and associations to submit grant requests for help with things like outreach events, resources and training. The requests may be submitted digitally on our website at https://azmn.org/grant-requests/.

“We are excited to partner with our churches in taking their next step in reaching people and engaging their communities,” said David Johnson, AZSBC executive director. “This process makes it easy for churches to access resources offered through the generosity of Arizona Southern Baptists. We hope churches will take advantage of this opportunity to expand their ministry reach.”

Grants are available in the areas of evangelism discipleship, leadership, Hispanic ministries and church planting development. Because of the generous giving of Southern Baptists through the Cooperative Program, the AZSBC is able to fund the requests made by Arizona Southern Baptist churches.

While the grant request form largely remains the same, one noticeable difference is in the area of evangelism.

Eddy Pearson, AZSBC evangelism discipleship facilitator, met with a group of Arizona pastors to create an evangelism strategy initiative to help move the state forward in evangelism in five specific areas: evangelistic prayer development, creating a culture of evangelism, evangelism coaching connections, technology that is targeted to evangelize, and evangelizing the underserved in Arizona. With this new initiative in place, your church will need to determine which of these categories your grant request falls under.

For all other requests, the process remains the same. Basic instructions are on the webpage.

Please contact our office or one of our facilitators if you have any questions regarding this new process. We look forward to partnering with you to help your church take its next step to reach your community with the gospel.
