Arise Conference reminds women ‘Even if … God is Still Good’

Oct 10, 2023

Women from throughout the state recharged, reconnected and grew in their relationship with Jesus at the fourth annual Arise AZ Conference in Sedona. A total of 675 women attended the event held Sept. 29-30 at the Sedona Performing Arts Center.

“The turnout and the powerful testimonies shared by the attendees have left us truly overwhelmed,” said Shannon Jennings, Arise chairperson. “It is heartwarming to witness so many lives touched, friendships mended and families healed.”

For the attendees, it was a weekend full of worship and hearing biblical truth through main sessions and breakouts meant for practical and biblical growth. Jan Shrader, Catherine Renfro, Cherie Wagner and Erica Wiggenhorn were the main speakers.

Breakout sessions addressed a variety of topics, including marriage, grief, hope, relationships, how to study the Bible, how to pray and evangelism. Special breakouts were available for teen girls and young adult women. Some breakouts were provided in Spanish.

The conference was life-changing for some, including those who accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Other women experienced family healings, reconciled friendships or made other significant decisions as they reaffirmed their faith and commitment to the Lord.

“We believe that ‘Even If … God is Still Good’ (the 2023 theme) has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all of those who attended,” Jennings said.

The ministry will continue beyond the weekend of the conference. Gifts to a love offering for Arizona Baptist Children’s Services & Family Ministries exceeded expectations when the women contributed $9,251, surpassing the goal of $7,000.

Plans are already underway for next year’s conference, which will be held Sept. 20-21 in Sedona. You can find out more at ariseaz.com.
