Doug & Cheryl Derbyshire
Doug and Cheryl have served with the International Mission Board in rural Thailand since 1992. Doug is a physician and runs a clinic staffed by 25 employees — from the gardener to the nurses, lab staff, pharmacy crew, x-ray technician and office staff. All clinic staff are trained to share the gospel at every given opportunity. All staff are involved in church planting efforts in surrounding areas, as well as assisting with mobile medical clinics that help with church planting around Thailand. Cheryl is director of Thai Country Trim. This ministry makes thousands of Christmas ornaments sold around the world. Thai Country Trim presently employs 500 women working from north to central Thailand. Most women work from their homes, and every worker hears gospel-centered stories each week. The Derbyshires have four grown children who, along with their spouses, all serve the Lord — their son Gary is pastor of Grace Baptist Church in Glendale (formerly Apollo Baptist Church), two serve with the IMB in Southeast Asia and one is a nurse in North Carolina.
