Annie Armstrong Offering
The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering was started in 1895 by Woman’s Missionary Union, a Southern Baptist Convention auxiliary organization that was founded in 1888 to pray for and systematically raise money for Southern Baptist missions. Annie Armstrong’s devotion to Christ led her to a life of service and leadership. She helped plant churches and served those who lived in poverty, especially in rural areas, as well as those who suffered from addiction. Annie mobilized women to go on mission to share the gospel with African Americans and Native Americans. Today, the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering is the primary way Southern Baptists fund missions in North America. Gifts to this offering are used to train and resource missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries under the umbrella of the North American Mission Board and Send Relief.
How to Pray
- For Jackie Allen, Brian Bowman, Brian Hook, Jessie Powell and Kyle Rosas, who are giving leadership to the church planting effort in Arizona through the North American Mission Board.
- For Send Relief, a collaboration of the International Mission Board and North American Mission Board, to meet needs and change lives through efforts such as digging wells for clean water, response to disasters and prevention of human trafficking.
- For WMU as they are seeking to continue the work of Annie Armstrong in supporting missions.
