Annie Armstrong Offering
Even though she lived more than 100 years ago, Annie Armstrong’s influence and sacrifice continues today. Each Easter, Southern Baptists honor her commitment to compassion and service with the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. Since its inception in 1895, more than $2 billion has been raised through this offering, with 100% of the dollars collected directly benefiting missionaries and ministries. Annie served as the first executive of Woman’s Missionary Union; raised support for missionaries to Italian and Jewish immigrants; secured funds to relieve Lottie Moon, who had served 11 years in China without a furlough; and advocated for Native American and impoverished mountain people. Today, gifts to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering go to train and resource missionaries in church planting and compassion ministries under the umbrella of the North American Mission Board and Send Relief.
