Meet Arizona Missionaries

Sub-Saharan Africa

Under the leadership of David Johnson and Monty Patton, the Arizona Mission Network prayed and felt led of the Holy Spirit to enter a partnership with the International Mission Board in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2023. Five teams from Arizona were sent out to various places in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2024. Royal Palms Baptist Church in Phoenix sent a team in May 2024 to Kenya to assist with a conference for IMB missionaries. Christian Challenge collegiate ministries sent a team of students to Nairobi and Mombasa to work alongside IMB missionaries. Calvary Baptist Church in Lake Havasu City sent a team to Lusaka, Zambia, to help local churches reach people with the gospel. Monty Patton led a group of eight Arizona pastors to Zambia, Mozambique, Niger and Kenya on a vision trip to explore opportunities for teams from our churches to get involved in the work there. First Southern Baptist Church at Sahuaro Ranch in Glendale sent a large team, in partnership with Christian Challenge, to South Africa to help with a missions conference. Last year was a great first year of partnership, but there is much more to do. • That God would raise up teams to help with student work, Bible conferences, pastor training, children’s ministry.
• That God would raise up teams to help meet humanitarian needs, such as agriculture, famine relief, well projects, even teaching basic skills like bicycle and motorcycle repair through Send Relief.
