The primary role of the full time Associate Pastor is to design, implement and manage a family outreach ministry in consort with the Senior Pastor and church leaders. The position requires a self motivated individual with a vision of how the modern church can reach out to and attract Millennials and Generation Z families so prevalent in the Tri-State Area.
We are located in a suburb of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and there are about 100 families in our church. We have everything from cowboys to retired military. The weather is very mild at 4500 feet elevation, and outdoor activities are unmatched. All amenities are available in the county, to include a shopping mall and several hospitals. This is a low cost of living area, unlike Tucson and Phoenix. We are willing to work with you to determine whether you desire a full time. part time, or bi-vocational position, and the salary will range up to $46K depending on qualifications and the number of hours worked.
The Associate Pastor is a full-time position. Regular 40-hour office hours minimum is expected, although some of the work hours will be evenings and/or weekends. The Associate Pastor will be expected to work with the Senior Pastor weekly to plan and pray for the worship services.

Youth Leader
Our part-time Youth Leader position has been vacant since the fall, and lay leadership has stepped up to minister in the interim. Though youth ministry is the primary focus of this position, all staff members must maintain flexibility in order to support other ministries as well. A servant’s heart is also a must.

The Associate Pastor is called to passionately oversee all aspects of Worship ministry including the leading of authentic, blended worship through music and other worship activities. The Associate Pastor will also display a passion for students and will have the direct oversight over the youth ministry of FSBC for the purpose of the evangelism and discipleship of Middle School and High School students.
Purpose: To grow and develop ministry leadership and skill that encourages students and their families to walk with Christ in everyday life.
The Youth Minister provides ministry leadership in all church youth programs. Provides youth of all ages and young adults with spiritual guidance and biblical teachings. The Youth Minister will also share in outreach and pastoral care in concert with other church staff.
Under the calling and leadership of God and commissioned by Apollo Baptist Church, the Youth Pastor works closely with the Senior Pastor to care as Jesus cares for students in 7th through 12th grade. He is charged with building a youth ministry that seeks to win the lost to Christ and disciple young Christians into mature faith and leadership.
Worship Leader
- Coordinate with the Senior Pastor to create and help lead Sunday morning worship services.
- Recruiting and developing a worship team.
- Preparation for and leading rehearsals one evening each week and on Sunday mornings before Sunday school.
- Choosing worship songs and distributing the music early in the week to each member of the Praise Team.
- Coordinating the words to songs and music with the media and sound
team.
The Worship Leader is responsible for working closely with the Senior Pastor in planning, coordinating, and leading the weekly worship gathering (as well as occasional special events). He will lead the church in worshiping the Lord through music and will do so, in part, by overseeing and investing in a team of volunteers (musicians, vocalists, A/V techs). With a prayerful posture and humble dependence on the Holy Spirit, he will strive to foster an environment of Christ-exalting, congregationally-edifying worship.

The technical director is responsible for all aesthetic and technical aspects of live and production oriented AVL (audio, visual, lighting) needs (including design, operation, and maintenance). By keeping up with emerging technologies in the field, the technical director will be a self-motivated learner, continuously innovating in order to set vision for the creative/atheistic worship experience through designing and implementing technical teams and systems to be used throughout the facility and through our online platforms. Also responsible for setting the spiritual tone for the technical ministry and will recruit, train, and manage multiple teams of volunteers to help foster a welcoming and immersive worship experience.
The social media/website director is responsible to maintain and grow our social presence and networks as well as update and keep current the website. The director will curate content to gain new followers and engage existing followers. You will create new social marketing campaigns, build brand recognition, and manage all published content on social media and the website. The director must think in photos, videos, and graphics with the intent to engage our fans and create a unique and ownable social footprint. He / She will work with web analytic tools to track campaign progress and research industry trends.
The Children’s Ministries Director plans and supervises programs and activities for children to ensure a smoothly operating, safe and effective program. The director will recruit and train leaders who will touch children’s lives with God’s love, teach them God’s Word and provide fellowship with God’s people—laying a foundation that will keep children interested in the things of God and involved in church. You will be liable for guaranteeing that all attendees are considered, regular meetings are held, and the running of the overall ministry is smooth.
