Why we are Partnering with Sub-Saharan Africa?
The Arizona Mission Network has entered into a partnership with the Sub-Saharan Africa Affinity with the International Mission Board for involving churches in mission projects, prayer, and participation. Arizona Southern Baptists have sent numerous families to Sub-Saharan Africa over the past decades and still have several missionaries serving in that area.
This partnership gives churches opportunity for engaging and exposing mission teams from their churches to the work in Sub-Saharan Africa, which is one of the fastest-growing population areas in the world and has hundreds of people groups who have yet to be reached with the gospel. As a part of this partnership, the Arizona Mission Network will help churches get involved through communicating and promoting projects, providing some assistance for travel, and connecting the church with IMB personnel on the field. We believe this partnership will assist churches that do not have a connection with an international mission context to be more directly involved in the work of missions.
How can I get involved?
Pray
The first and best way for your church to get involved is to begin praying for the peoples of Sub-Saharan Africa. You can learn more about specific ways you can pray at http://www.imb.org/sub-saharan-africa/. There is a special effort to pray for unreached peoples in Sub-Saharan Africa called 55 in 5. You can learn more about this effort in the 55 in 5K PrayerCast or by visiting https://www.imb.org/campaign/55-in-5k/. Additionally, you can use the Pray button below to sign up for regular emails containing prayer requests from missionaries in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Then pray about what the Lord might want you and your church to do to get involved in the work of reaching people in Sub-Saharan Africa with the Gospel. You can start by reading over the list of opportunities and praying that God will raise up workers for the harvest.
